I’m Laura McLarty, a Specialist Researcher with 19 years of experience in consulting with young people and reporting key insights back to clients. I really care about the issues affecting them and their future life chances. I have two small children and I live in Yorkshire.
I worked for various consultancies (ECOTEC/Ecorys; Pye Tait Limited; & Dubit Limited) before setting up my own company in 2010.
Over this time, I have conducted research with many young people, discussing a wide range of issues – from their experiences of claiming benefits – to the impact of education in their lives, their thoughts about their future careers, right through to uses of digital media and their preferences for certain products.
These experiences have taught me that youth are just like us, they have a huge range of opinion and a high level of understanding and articulation. They like to be involved in the research process and to help make decisions.
Most importantly, they want to be a part of what is going on, whether online or face-to-face and understand more about what you are offering them.
4D Youth Matter aims to conduct research with young people, while supporting their needs and interests. It’s about involving them in research in a way that is engaging and meaningful for them.
I have an enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau to work with children and young people.
Educated at Masters level and with experience of conducting academic research within doctorate study, I am fully committed to delivering robust and thoughtful insight for clients. I am a certified member of the Market Research Society and sit on the Market Research Society Standards Board and on the Editorial Advisory Board for the International Journal of Market Research (IJMR).
The 4D Youth Matter Blog provides commentary and analysis on young people’s lives and is intended to stimulate debate.
Here is what others say about Me:
“Laura is well organised, dedicated and effective at getting the job done. She applies exceptional analytical thought to the research process and delivers a high quality end result. She is a pleasure to work with, and always goes the extra mile for clients and partners. We are delighted to count Laura and 4D Research as our trusted partners. I was very impressed with Laura’s practical approach to getting the research done, how quickly she got on top of the subject being researched, and with the quality of her work. She completed the work on time and to a very high standard”.
